This wonderful brooch is hand-cut in the form of a tern in flight. Its hammered surface shimmers along with some detailed engraving.

Provenance:

This piece comes from the collection of a marine biologist and his wife who summered on the Cape while he worked at The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Most of the collection was purchased in the 1950s. They have descended in the family.

This wonderful brooch is stamped 'SGP' within a triangle and 'STERLING.' It measures 3 inches tall, weighs 8 grams and it is in very good condition.
