Stavre Gregor Panis Arts & Crafts Sterling Silver Seagull Bracelet, Falmouth, MA, c. 1950s

This rare bracelet is beautifully hammered, pierced and engraved. The hinged, three large panels display various scenes of seagulls in flight. The 6-link bracelet with toggle clasp is designed with domed, pierced and engraved discs displaying swordfish amongst waves.

Provenance:

This piece comes from the collection of a marine biologist and his wife who summered on the Cape while he worked at The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Most of the collection was purchased in the 1950s. They have descended in the family.

This wonderful bracelet is stamped 'SGP' within a triangle and 'STERLING.' The bracelet measures 2 inches wide and 7 inches in circumference, weighs 58 grams and is in very good condition.
