William Spratling Sterling "Amarres" Pattern Salad Serving Set, Taxco, Mexico, 1947-1967

These servers are magnificent examples of Spratling's bold flatware designs. Rising from 13 bands around each base of the dramatic handles is a single, bold, incised line that splits at the top with a simple seed decoration. The pierced bowls of the fork and spoon shimmer with exceptional hammering. 

These fantastic servers are marked with the 'WS' mark in an oval incorporating the '925' sterling standard surrounded by 'WILLIAM SPRATLING TAXCO MEXICO.' They measure just shy of 11 inches long, weigh an impressive 11.7 troy ounces, have never been monogrammed, and are in excellent antique condition.
