William Gale and Son Antique Sterling Pierced Sugar Sifter, NYC, c. 1850's

This great sugar sifter has a twist handle with flattened, pierced top with lovely engraving. The shield cartouche is engraved on the front 'CCR' and the reverse is engraved 'FROM/ WJCF.' The pierced bowl exhibits stunning pierce-work and hand-engraved details.

This wonderful sugar sifter is marked 'W. GALE & SON/ 925 STERLING/ 3.' It measures 7.75 inches long, weighs 1.65 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
