Whiting Twist Design Antique Sterling Silver Cheese Scoop, NYC, c. 1880

Made from heavy gauge silver, this lovely cheese (stilton) scoop features a wonderfully designed handle that twists in one direction and then reverses the twist motion as it gets larger traveling up the handle. The shaped blade is lightly gilded on the interior and engraved 'MEB in a lovely script on the back.

This lovely cheese scoop is marked with Whiting's trademark along with 'STERLING/ 3/ 8'. It measures 9.25 inches long, weighs 3.20 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition with light wear to the gilding.
