Whiting Antique Engraved Serving Spoon, NYC, NY, c. 1870s

This multi-functional serving spoon is engraved with geometric designs against a stippled background around a reserve engraved 'Uncle John.' The oval bowl has a feathered edge and classic engraving to the bowl.

This nice server is marked with Whiting's trademark, 'STERLING/ 22', and was retailed by Boston's 'N. HARDING & CO.' It measures 9 inches long, weighs 2.35 troy ounces, and is in very good condition with light scratching from use.
