Tiffany & Co Set of 4 Antique Sterling Silver Master Salts, NYC, c. 1882

We always find some of the greatest designs are ones which incorporate a little bit of whimsy. So unusual and fun are the feet of these salts being cast and executed as human legs with bare feet. The legs are clad in a fanciful design resembling Aztec decoration.

These feet hold up the small dishes with fluted designs emanating from the center. These flutes travel upwards along the sides and cascade outward forming the rims.

These rare salts are marked underneath 'TIFFANY & Co/ 6839/ M/ 8494/ STERLING'. They measure just over 3 inches in diameter by 1.25 inches high, weigh a combined 9.65 troy ounces and are in very good antique condition with wear to the interior original gilding.
