This is a stunning piece. The large bowl is beautifully decorated with a wide band of repoussé foliage. This dense scene incorporates various flowers and leaves with striking details, which are wonderfully preserved. The interior is stunning with its matte finish and applied gold wash. The undecorated exterior of the bowl has a soft, matte finish and is engraved with a script 'AEC' monogram.
The pedestal base also has a matte finish and a beautiful band of aesthetic leaves and flowers design.
This centerpiece is marked underneath 'THEODORE B. STARR/ STERLING' along with a star symbol and the model number '50'. It measures 8.75 inches in diameter by 6.25 inches high, weighs 22.704 troy ounces and is in excellent, crisp antique condition with some light scratches to the interior from use.
