Featuring a low streamlined silhouette, this rectangular art deco sauce boat has an attached wooden handle on the side. The splayed foot conforms to the shape of the body. A wire molding has been applied to the upper edge to reinforce both physically and aesthetically the sweep of the rim.

This stylish small sauce boat was likely designed by Jean Tétard, who ran the family silver firm from c. 1930 until the end of the War. His designs are some of the most successful of the period and not commonly seen on the market.

Measuring 5.75 inches long, 4.25 inches wide across the handle and 2 inches high, it weighs 6.25 troy ounces (including the handle) and is in very good/ excellent antique condition with a slight impression on the inside from the handle.
