Stavre Gregor Sterling Silver Jewelry Suite, Falmouth, MA, c. 1950s
This is a rare suite of jewelry which includes a pierced necklace with matching earrings and bracelet. The 5-link bracelet and 11-link necklace are designed with three blossomed flowers above a leaf. They are flanked with curled ends between links and each have a toggle clasp. Single representations of the design create the screw-back earrings.
These pieces come from the collection of a marine biologist and his wife who summered on the Cape while he worked at The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Most of the collection was purchased in the 1950s. They have descended in the family.
These lovely items are stamped 'SGP' within a triangle and 'STERLING' . The necklace and bracelet measure 15 and 6.5 inches respectively. The total weight for the set is 41 grams and it is in very good condition.
