Shiebler Miniature Antique Sterling Silver and Enamel Coffee Pot/ Salt or Pepper Shaker, NYC, c. 1890
$0.00
Silver miniatures are quite rare and I have never seen an example by Shiebler. This example is of a cute, side-handled coffee pot. The body is tapered and based on a colonial form.
The unusual accent of an enamelled finial on the removable, pierced cover is very sweet. There is no opening to where the spout attaches to the body so salt or pepper only comes out the holes on the top.
The pot is engraved 'BL' in a lovely script.
This rare, small item is marked with Shiebler's winged 'S' trademark along with 'STERLING/ 7707. It is 2 inches tall and in excellent antique condition.
