Shiebler Antique Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Tall Vase, NYC, c. 1890
A stunning example of art nouveau decoration, this vase features large, wonderful flowers on both sides executed by means of repoussé work with cast and applied details. The graceful curve of the long neck flares outward to an everted rim which has been pierced and decorated with applied flowers.
This same lovely border also decorates the rim of the pedestal foot. The balance between the elegant shapes and bold decoration make this vase an object of beauty.
This rare, tall vase is marked underneath with Shiebler's winged 'S' trademark and 'STERLING/ 5933'. It measures 19.5 inches high, weighs 47.70 troy ounces, has never been monogrammed and is in very good/ excellent antique condition.
