Shiebler Antique Sterling Silver Aesthetic Movement Asparagus Server, New York City, c. 1890

This stunning asparagus serving fork has a bold shape and dramatic presence. The extraordinary wide, flat handle is elaborately decorated with two flowers in bloom amongst various scrolling and foliate designs.

The large, shaped blade is lovely. It is unusually designed and pierced, has a matte finish and is covered on the front and back with lovely gilding. This wonderful flat server is great for serving entrees, sandwiches, lasagna, etc.

This rare server is marked with Shiebler's trademark along with 'STERLING/ 2887'. It measures 10.25 inches long by 3.75 inches across the blade, weighs 5.70 troy ounces, has never been monogrammed and is in excellent antique condition.
