Polhamus & Strong, Tiffany, Antique Sterling Silver Pie Server, New York City, c. 1859-63

This is a lovely pie server made by Polhamus & Strong and retailed through Tiffany & Co. before Tiffany started creating their own flatware. It is of wonderful quality and executed in the popular Fiddle Thread pattern. At the top of the handle is an engraved 'HWR' monogram. The flat, shaped blade is hand-engraved with a wonderful scene of a strawberry vine with strawberries in various stages of bloom. 

The back of the handle is stamped 'P*S/ STERLING/ TIFFANY & Co'. It measures 10.5 inches long, weighs 3.35 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
