John Parsons & Co Pair of Antique English Sterling Candelabra, Sheffield, 1792/93

This is a beautiful pair of late 18th century sterling candelabra. The large weighted circular bases provide great stability. Two sets of incised lines border the perimeters of the undecorated bases. This plain surface with fine line edges is also used on the wax pans and original bobeche. The columns and all sconces have elegant palm leaf decoration.

These lovely sterling silver candelabra are fully hallmarked on the bases and branches. The removable bobeche are hallmarked with the sovereign's head, lion passant and maker's mark. The candlesticks measure 11.5 inches high. With the branches, they measure 16.5 high by 17 inches across. The felt on the bottom is new and they are in wonderful antique condition.
