Marcus & Co. Sterling Silver Hammered Vase, New York, c. 1900

Marcus & Company silver is very scarce and usually of great design and quality as is the case with this vase. 

The elegant form of the slender body on domed base with a wavy top edge has been hammered overall which makes the vase sparkle.  Rising up from the base are four exquisitely chased art-nouveau floral scenes.  This fine detailing also decorates the dome foot. 

The underneath is stamped 'MARCUS & Co' along with their trademark and 'NEW YORK/ STERLING5455-122/ 13 inch'. 

It weighs 21.85 troy ounces and is in excellent condition.
