Varying hues of turquoise and deep blue color give this hand-blown vase its stunning radiance and beauty with hints of yellow and red at the base of the neck. This glass technique is referred to as oil-spot iridescence making each item unique. Applied, art nouveau silver rise up from the spherical body with an intricate design of swirling branches and flowers, hand-engraved for details. Four areas are left open to see the beauty of the glass and its striated design. Not only is the design extraordinary but the skill involved to execute such a piece is an art form which only a few companies accomplished.

Although unsigned by the maker, vases of this design and quality are strongly attributed to the Austrian glass firm Loetz which operated from 1840-1940. This stunning vase is marked on the overlay '999/1000 FINE SILVER,' marks typically used by Alvin who were in Sag Harbor, NY during this period. It measures 6.75 inches high and is in excellent condition with a tiny flake to the glass on the interior rim(see picture).
