Kennard & Jenks Antique Sterling Silver Trompe l'oeil Dish, Boston, c. 1876-80

This stunning dish is designed as a folded napkin on a basket-weave plate. It is an amazing work of art executed in sterling. The damask pattern napkin with its uneven surface appears to be resting naturally on the plate. Hand-chased designs in the napkin are remarkable. There is a pedestal base which is engraved on the underside 'SAC.

This rare dish is marked with Kennard & Jenks trademark along with 'K&J/ STERLING/ 312'. It measures just under 10.5 inches round by 1.5 inches high, weighs 19.10 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
