This stunning decanter is a rare form with wonderful cut glass designs. The removable stopper is a wonderful twist spiral with cut decorations. It incorporates green glass within the spiral to create a beautiful effect. The plain collar is unadorned and enhanced by the glass which it protects.

The body, as with the finial, is hand blown with a polished pontil underneath. The shape is very rare with six large lobes forming the lower half and a slender neck travelling upwards. Each of the lobes is cut to clear with lovely displays of flowers. Various fern and geometric designs decorate the neck and shoulder.

This rare vase is fully hallmarked on the silver for Johnson, Durban & Co, Birmingham, 1897/98. It measures 5.75 inches wide by 12.5 inches high and is in excellent antique condition.
