John Wendt 'Apollo' Pattern Antique Sterling Silver Ice Cream Server, NYC, c. late 1860s

This beautiful server, at the time of production an ice cream server, can be used for serving a myriad of foods. The shaped blade is beautifully engraved with a display of ivy. The top of the handle has an oval with a female figure depicting one of the nine muses. The reverse is engraved with a 'CAP' monogram.

This rare server is marked '925/ PATENT'. It measures 9.75 inches long, weighs 3.05 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
