John Reily overstriking Philip Rundell English Sterling Silver 'Brandy' Decanter Label Marked, London, 1824/25

This exuberant Regency decanter label is a rare item of exceptional quality. The weight is superb and the design with shells and scrolling foliage make it a particularly striking example. The very heavy chain is original to the piece. It is everything you would expect from Rundell, Bridge and Rundell, the Royal Goldsmiths to King George IV.

The front bottom edge is fully hallmarked with the mark of John Reily overstriking Philip Rundell's mark. Years ago we had the two other matching labels for Claret and Burgundy marked by Philip Rundell and this label has been in our collection. The label measures 3 inches wide by 2 inches high. It weighs 1.90 troy ounces and is in excellent condition.
