John Power Irish Antique Sterling Silver Gilt 'Old English' Dessert Spoons, set of 16, Dublin, 1787
This is a spectacular set of early Irish dessert spoons. The Old English design of a slender handle and dowturned curve at the top was in style during the mid to late 18th century and still remains popular today.
The fronts of the handles are beautifully engraved with the crest of a seated lion. Adding to their elegant look is the lovely gilt surface.
This rare set of spoons is fully hallmarked. The spoons measure 6.5 inches long, weigh a total 13.75 troy ounces and are in excellent antique condition.
