This lovely sugar sifter is in a classically inspired pattern called 'Corinthian'. John Polhemus (w. 1833-74) was an important New York silversmith who retailed many of his products through the finest jewelers in America, including Tiffany & Co. This sifter is engraved with a stunning 'MBC' monogram on the back.

This wonderful antique server is marked on the back 'J.P./ PATENT 1865/ TIFFANY & CO.'. It measures 7.25 inches long, weighs 1.90 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
