George Sharp for Bailey & Co Antique Sterling Silver Buckwheat Pancake or Pastry Server, Philadelphia, c. 1880
A flat, shaped blade is decorated with bright-cut engraving, including a laurel wreath around a single flower. Fine beading borders the handle below a reserve flanked with leaves and a single leaf at the top, containing an 'HP' monogram. This design is also used on the back of the handle, along with a leaf dropping into the flat blade.
This lovely server is marked 'BAILEY & Co' and with George Sharp trademark and a lion. It measures just shy of 7.15 inches long, weighs 1.75 troy ounces, and is in very good antique condition.
