Gorham Sterling 'Chrysanthemum' Pattern Serving Fork, Providence, RI, 1890

Notify me when similar is available:

This lovely serving fork features a sparkly matte finish background and engraving of chrysanthemums on the handle and is engraved 'MEM' and 1890, the year the pattern was introduced. The area above the tines is also engraved with a couple flowers. The leftmost tine is wider than the others and comes to a point. Seeing how specific silver servers became, this form is referred to as a cold meat fork.

This wonderful server is marked with Gorham's trademark and 'STERLING.' It measures 8 inches long, weighs 2 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.

Provenance: From the collection of Dale E. Bennett.
