Gorham Modern Sterling Silver Fruit/ Centerpiece Bowl, Providence, RI, c. 1930s

This rare bowl has a magnificent, hammered surface and flared rim. A dramatic display of foliage and berries creates a bold, Danish mid-century look to the elegant simplicity of the bowl and the plain, stepped base.  

Gorham's "E" series silver from the 1930s was a high-end, handmade line of silver. Unfortunately, those records at the Gorham Archives are not accessible, but these pieces were low-production or unique.

This wonderful bowl is marked with Gorham's trademark and 'GORHAM/ STERLING/ E568/ HAND WROUGHT.' It measures 9.5 inches in diameter by 5.25 inches tall,  weighs 26.70 troy ounces and is in excellent condition.
