Gorham 'H' Pattern Antique Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Serving Spoon, Providence, RI, c. 1900
$0.00
This is a rare 'H' pattern spoon and a great example of art nouveau/ gilded age design. Made of very heavy gauge silver, the handle is designed on both sides with bold grape leaves and bunches of grapes. The pattern is even more developed at the base of the handle and into the bowl. The textured background enhances the bold design of the grapevines creating a stunningly artistic scene. The 'H' pattern designation was used by Gorham for special limited production flatware items which were not made in full-line patterns.
This beautiful large serving spoon is marked on the back with Gorham's trademark along with 'H389/ STERLING'. It measures 9.5 inches long, weighs 6.05 troy ounces, has never been monogrammed and is in excellent antique condition.
