Gorham 'Grecian' Pattern Antique Sterling Silver Sugar Sifter, Providence, RI, c. 1860's

'Grecian' is a nice example of early flatware produced by Gorham. This lovely sugar sifter has a pierced floriform bowl with petal-shaped sides . The curved handle has a bold leaf design at the top.

Engraved on the back is the name 'Cobb'.

This lovely antique sifter is marked on the back with Gorham's trademark along with 'STERLING' and the Chicago retailer 'MATSON & HOES'. It measures 6.25 inches long, weighs 1.40 troy ounces and is in good antique condition with even wear to the gilding in the bowl.
