Gorham Antique Sterling Silver Sugar Caster, Providence, RI, 1871

This wonderful sugar caster would have been used for shaking powdered sugar over one's dessert or fruit. The balloon-shaped body is pierced with graduating holes and has a matte finish with lovely engraved decoration traveling around the body. It is also engraved with a gothic 'M' initial.

This wonderful caster is marked on the removable plug with Gorham's trademark and 'STERLING/ 35/ D.' It measures 2.5 inches wide by 4 inches tall, weighs 3.35 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
