This rare vase is tall and of exceptional quality. The hand-blown glass is a striking yellow-green color.
Exquisite glass cuttings through the colored exterior to the clear glass underneath create magnificent scenes of branches with leaves and cherries. The cuts on the glass are deep and beautifully detailed. The underside of the base is also decorated with large, cut cherries and leaves to mask where the pontil would be. We have been told this glass pattern is by Baccarat and Gorham had a documented relationship with Baccarat.
The attached sterling collar has a downturned edge bordered with scroll devices and floral sprays.
This magnificent vase is marked with Gorham's trademark with 'STERLING/ D' and the year mark of 1905. It measures an impressive 15 inches tall with the top rim measuring just shy of 6 inches in diameter. The vase is in very good antique condition.
