Examples of American marrow scoops are extremely rare.
Marrow scoops were originally used for feasting on bone marrow, considered a delicacy. This clever instrument is made from a single piece of silver and has one narrow and one long scoop of varying proportions. The center is an oval shield with reverse twisting decorating the lengths of the handle.
