Gorham Antique Coin Silver Medallion Mustard Pot, Providence, RI, c. 1865

This lovely mustard pot features applied portrait medallions on a plain,  body with a pedestal base. The same pair of medallions on each side depicts a female and male figure facing each other. Engraved on one side is the initial 'S.' The hinged cover has a cutout for a mustard ladle and a simple knob finial. The interior of the pot and inside of the cover are beautifully gilt. An applied handle is decorated with a draped leaf and rosette.

This rare mustard pot is marked with Gorham's trademark and model number '510.' It measures 4 inches tall, weighs 4.50 troy ounces, and is in excellent antique condition.
