Gorham Aesthetic Movement Antique Sterling Silver Pie Server, Providence, RI c. 1870s

This rare pie server is very striking with its unique, bold designs. The rectangular handle has three oval applied rings folded over the top decorated on their interiors with bright-cut engraved flowers. The surface of the rectangle has a soft, matte finish. The front is hand-engraved with decoration while the other two sides are plain except for a lovely 'LS' monogram.

The shaped blade is heart shaped and parcel gilt. The handle travels town the top of the blade with a well on both sides engraved with complimentary flowers as the handle.

This rare pie server is marked with Gorham's trademark and 'STERLING'. It measures 9.75 inches long, weighs 3.25 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
