George Sharp Antique Sterling Steer-head Pickle Fork, Philadelphia, PA, c. 1870

Notify me when similar is available:

This is a very rare pickle fork in a dramatic pattern. The shaped handle has a wonderful cast and applied steer head executed in stunning detail. A cowbell hangs below.

The tines have some lovely hand engraved decoration, and the back of the handle is engraved with an 'M' initial.

For another example of a pickle fork in the same design, see Silver Magazine, Sept/Oct 1989, p. 37.

This rare fork is marked with George Sharp's lion 'S' lion mark. It measures just over 6 inches long, weighs 1.25 troy ounces, and is in very good antique condition.
