George Sharp Antique Sterling Silver Sauce Ladle, Philadelphia, PA, 1866-72
This sweet ladle is beautifully made of multiple parts with a ball design at the top of the curved handle. The helmet-shaped bowl features a winged creature at the back of the bowl. Due to its size, this ladle would have been used most likely for dessert sauces.
This lovely, small ladle is marked with Sharp's trademark and by the retailer 'HART BROS.' It measures 8 inches long, weighs 1.65 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
