George Sharp Antique Sterling Silver "Bull" Pickle Set, Philadelphia, PA, c. 1870

This is a very rare pickle set in a rare pattern. The shaped handles have fantastic cast and applied 3-D steer heads executed with stunning details. A cowbell hangs below. The backs of the handles are engraved with 'ALH' monograms. Both sides of the blade and tine area are gilt and also have some hand-engraved accents.

This stunning serving set is marked with George Sharp's lion 'S' lion mark along with the Baltimore retailer 'Geo. W. Webb & Co.' The fork and knife measure 6.25 and 7 inches long respectively, weigh a combined 2.90 troy ounces and are in excellent antique condition with very slight wear to the original gilding.
