Georg Jensen 'Cosmos' Pattern Sterling Silver Pitcher, c. 1950's

In a pattern designed by Johan Rohde circa 1915, this wonderful water pitcher exhibits the fine quality and charm that makes Jensen silver so special. Graceful shapes with minimal decoration create this beautiful piece. Enhancing its beauty is the shimmering hammered surface encompassing the body. A scroll and berry decoration is applied underneath the top of the carved, dark wood handle.

This stunning sterling silver pitcher is marked 'GEORG JENSEN' in a beaded oval along with 'DENMARK/ STERLING/ 45A/ DESSIN JR'. This mark was used from 1945-1977. It measures 9.5 inches high, weighs 21.35 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition.
