Falick Novick Arts & Crafts Sterling Silver Gravy Boat, c. 1930's


This lovely example of arts & crafts sterling silver was made by the Chicago silversmith Falick Novick. It is large in size and made from heavy gauge silver. The gracefully shaped edge has an applied decorative band which matches the edge of the pedestal foot. These bands also acts to finish and strengthen the border. The body is beautifully fluted. Applied on one side is a lovely 'FSK' monogram, in a style for which Novick was known. This wonderful gravy or sauce boat is marked underneath 'F. NOVICK/ STERLING/ HANDWROUGHT/ CHICAGO'. It measures 8.25 inches across the top by 4 inches high. It weighs 10.20 troy ounces and is in excellent condition.
