F. A. Durgin 'Medallion' Pattern Antique Sterling Silver Berry Spoon, St. Louis, MO, c. 1870

This beautiful serving spoon was made by F.A. Durgin, from St. Louis, Missouri. The lovely handle is fluted and topped with classical leaf decoration. The oval portrait medallion is of a soldier with a helmet against a pebbled background. The reverse is engraved with a 'JFK' monogram.

The bowl is engraved with a lovely scene of strawberries on a twisting vine.

This wonderful server is marked 'FA DURGIN ST LOUIS/ STERLING'. It measures just shy of 9 inches long, weighs 2.70 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition with very light wear to the surface.
