F.A. Durgin 'Medallion' Coin Silver Child's Cup, c. 1865
This lovely cup was made by F.A. Durgin, from St. Louis, Missouri. It is of typical form with bands of wonderfully engraved renaissance inspired classical decoration around the top and bottom of the body. The front is engraved 'Madge Peters.' The cast and applied handle has a beautiful applied medallion on the thumb rest. This medallion exhibits some wear from use.
This wonderful cup is marked underneath 'FA DURGIN ST LOUIS/ PURE COIN.' It measures 3.75 inches high, weighs 5.60 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition.
