This stunning cigar case exhibits exceptional engraving to the surface. The sides are plain, as are the applied bands which reinforce the rims and incorporate the hinge.

A cartouche on one side is engraved with the following presentation:

Presented to
Mr. Maurice Myers
by his
FORMAN, CLERKS, TOOL MAKERS & c.
as a tribute of
respect & esteem on
the occasion of his
MARRIAGE
24 August 1853

This cigar case comes with a note from 1953. It states that Maurice Myers was founder of M Myers & Son which was a pen manufacturing business. It is written to the great grandson of Maurice Myers by an Uncle stating the case 'takes the form of an interesting heirloom, which should clearly be held by you'.

This lovely case is fully hallmarked on the interior rim. It measures 5.5 inches long by 3 inches wide by .75 inches deep, weighs 5.90 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
