Muffineers were a popular and elegant addition to tables and were used for applying regular or powdered sugar to desserts and fruits. This beautiful example features an inverted pear shape glass body with fern decoration. An applied pedestal foot and an applied shoulder at the top is designed with foliage and a bit of classicism. The domed cover is pierced and lightly engraved with more ferns.

This lovely shaker is marked underneath with Durgin's trademark and 'STERLING/ 164'. It measures 8 inches high, has never been monogrammed and is in excellent antique condition.
