These beautiful spoons are a great set for eating fruit, berries or ice cream.  The elongated, oval bowls are covered in lovely gilding with stylized engraving. The twist stems are very attractive, as are the flat, shaped handles with hand-engraved decoration and 'AGS' initials.

Duhme & Co. was from Cincinnati, Ohio and made wonderful silver. Herman Duhme was born in Germany in 1819. From humble beginnings, Duhme built the finest silversmith and jewelry establishment in Cincinnati; they were known as 'the Tiffany of Cincinnati.' Their items are uniformly well made, usually with interesting design features.

Provenance: Collection of Dale E. Bennett

These uncommon spoons are marked 'DUHME & CO.' They measure 5.75 inches long, weigh a combined 4.80 troy ounces and are in excellent antique condition.
