Dominick & Haff ‘Renaissance’ Sterling Silver Sandwich Tongs, NYC, NY, c. 1890s

Beautifully pierced, this stunning server by Dominick & Haff is very rare. The 'Renaissance' pattern is a lovely design that incorporates classical faces on the front side of its handles and, in this case, the exterior of both handles. Various piercings add additional artistic elements to the piece. Above the masks are reserves normally displaying monograms. However, these have never been engraved.

One of the handle interiors is stamped with Dominick & Haff's trademark and the other by the New York City retailer 'BLACK, STARR & FROST.' It measures 8.5 inches long, weighs 8.45 troy ounces, and is in very good antique condition.
