This is a lovely and uncommon condiment pot from the New York City firm of Dominick & Haff.

The slender pot has a plain, circular applied foot along with an applied scroll handle. The top rim of the body is plain as is the ball finial atop the elongated cover. The aesthetic decoration consists of a textured surface designed as an background of leaves. On either side are copper appliques of leaves and a branch with leaves growing upwards from the base.

Hanging down on the front is an applied brass sprig with a copper butterfly near the base. An 'STR' monogram is engraved on the rim.

This beautiful antique mustard pot is marked with Dominick & Haff's trademark with the 1880 date and 'STERLING/ 242'. It measures 4 inches high, weighs 3.30 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
