Dominick & Haff Antique Sterling Silver Footed Shaped Tray, NYC, NY, 1876

This ornate tray is beautifully shaped, with a raised border of floral decoration against a stippled background and an applied foliate edge. Classical foliate scrolls flank a mask-like device at the top. The interior is decorated with wonderful engine-turning and is engraved in the center with a lovely shield that has never been monogrammed. Four splayed feet consist of ball and claw castings. 

This sweet tray is marked with Dominick & Haff's trademark, including the 1876 date and 'STERLING.' It measures 11.25 inches wide by 9.25 inches wide by 1.5 inches tall to the top of the handle, weighs 12.35 troy ounces, and is in excellent antique condition.
