Davis & Galt Antique Sterling Silver Pea Spoon, Philadelphia, PA, c. 1890

Sometimes referred to as 'Paisley', this lovely handle is designed with exotic swirling and foliate patterns. The large, circular, gilt bowl is wonderfully pierced in the form of a flower. The back of the handle is plain and engraved 'DAW' at the top. Pea spoons are quite rare as servers and work well with many types of food that need to be strained.

This rare pea spoon is marked with Davis & Galt's trademark, 'STERLING' and by the Boston retailer 'BIGELOW, KENNARD & CO. It measures 9.25 inches long, weighs 2.60 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition. The black in the picture is from the reflection of the camera lens.
