Albert Coles Antique Coin Silver Master Butter Knife, NYC, c. 1860s

This wonderful butter knife is made of heavy gauge silver and beautifully decorated. The handle is engraved 'MMN' within a stippled cartouche with a leaf to its left. The shaped blade is also hand-engraved with a scrolling design against a background of vertical lines and a traveling vine. The handle is formed to sit flat while the blade rests upright.

This beautiful master butter knife is marked with Albert Coles trademark. It measures 7.25 inches long, weighs 1.45 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
