This stunning cocktail set consists of a large shaker and six cocktail goblets. The impressive cocktail shaker is urn-shaped with a boldly hammered surface which sparkles. A large, circular piece of carved rose quartz separates the body from the domed foot, all connected with a silver nut and bolt underneath. Another impressive piece of carved quartz is used as the handle of the domed cover which has a cork-fitted interior.

The goblets, with flaring cups and spreading feet, also feature carved rose quartz. They are also constructed with a silver rod and bolt connecting the parts.

A popular feature of late 1920's silver, the carved rose quartz adds wonderful contrast and color to the silver.

While best known for their colonial revival silver, the Charter Company made high quality 'modern' style silver for a brief period in the late 1920's and early 30's. Committed to high quality design, they hired the important Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen as a consultant designer.

This lovely set is marked underneath with the Charter Company emblem and 'STERLING/ AM2780S' on the shaker and 'STERLING/ AP2984'. They also have a small engraved 'BM' monogram underneath. The shaker and cups measure 13 and 3.75 inches tall respectfully. The entire weighable silver minus the shaker cover is 53.8 troy ounces. The set is in excellent antique condition.
