This exceptional serving scoop is a bold and impressive design with its cannon-shaped handle of exotic inspiration. The bowl is magnificent with its matte finish and gilt surface. the curved blade is engraved with the initial 'G'. The hood of the blade is a stunning dome with classical design and the side attachment are beautifully pierced.

An unknown flatware pattern, our best guess is that this was designed by the silversmith Alonzo Hubbard and made by William Gale and/ or William Gale, Jr.’s shop.

This rare server is marked 'STERLING'. It measures 10.5 inches long, weighs 3.45 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
